In pawn shop, saw an almost worn out Snap On pry bar, maybe a 24 inch model that was almost worn out with a large chip out of the handle. Asked the pawn shop guy the price, he said $20. Maybe he was just messing with me since I have done a lot of business there but naturally I turned the deal down. Todday I was at flea market and someone had one in good used shape for $10. Didn't get that one either, I have pry bars and don't need another. Yeah, I know, hasen't stopped me before.

Purchases? A few sockets and a Matco BFR11TM, If I'm reading it right, ratchet that the selector lever is locked up, will only turn one way, and has chrome missing. The action has rust in it. I may call Matco and see what can be done.

What is it with people letting tools get rusty? Is this just a southeastern thing or is it nationwide? I've seen and not bought piles of rusty tools, mostly non tool truck tools.

I don't think its a regional thing but obviously there are going to be more rusty tools in New York or Massachusetts than New Mexico or Arizona .
People can be negligent or just too busy to clean tools no matter where they are.

It don't know, I guess they don't polish their tools after every use? :lol_hitti

JK, I really don't understand why you'd let a quality tool you use to make $$$ and spent money on rot away in a dark corner...

Gotta remember a lot of folks don't have nice garages and don't use there tools that often. Even out of direct weather, it is so humid in the southeast that if you don't touch your tools that often, they will become very rusty. The humidity and temperature changes.

Especially cheap tools with poor chrome.

Then again, some people just take very poor care of their stuff.

....

Right, that too.
Or maybe someone is just really old and hasn't been able to use their tools in years. They took good care of them when they used them, twenty years earlier.

I heard once that there are people out there who never even think about tools. Never talk about them either.

Definitely weird, but that's what I heard.

This! ^

I love tools but have friends who treat plastic silverware better than any tool in their hand.

I know a bunch of rusty tools. I drink with them once in a while.

Same thing with rusty guns, some people just don't care.
