I feel like I have seen these before. My mother-in-law just sent me pictures and wants to know what it is. My first thought was for lifting railroad track or something similar. Any ideas?

Paul Bunyan's toenail clippers? I don't know. It seems strange because it looks like it is for pinching and then carrying something, but for the pinch to stay tight you have to keep pressing the handles away from each other which would be a real hassle.

I had one for abusing coconuts, until a loco coco ricocheted off a couple of other nuts. Now I use a hammer and chisel to extract the milk.:wtf::scared::yikes:

It is whatever Chuck Norris wants it to be.

Thigh master first generation or a Panini press from old Italy.

That's some funny stuff.

I'm sure back in the day the ladies would ride that like a zip line down the clothesline to gather up all the clothespins.

Or

It's an old single hand tug of war device. Who's up to the challenge? I won't let go, I promise. ;)

Maybe not as easy as I thought, more pics

Here are some more pictures. That's all I got. Get along fine with the MIL but that could change if she moves any closer than a couple hundred miles...

Any other guesses?

Congratulations!!! It's been >24hrs and you stumped the collective tool wisdom of GJ!!

Usually a "what is this tool" thread gets correctly answered within milliseconds of it's posting.

I know it's messed up, but as soon as I saw that thing I started thinking about how much I hope I never get my nuts caught in one.

 That one almost cost me a coffee this morning.

I wouldn't want none of my appurtenances caught in that thingamajig! I'd talk for sure!

So....- That thing belonged to one of the Banner brothers?

Those handles are definitely like old primitive shovel handles.

I'm thinking could have been used to walk along and rip weeds out of the ground. For those too lazy to dig out the roots. :)
