I recently stumbled across Kutch420's post about the SK 40175 and it reminded me of an embarrassing happenstance from the first of this year. I was probing deeper into one of my toolboxes when, behold, there before me was a pristine and unused SK model 40175 in all of its 15 inch glory. It took a moment to realize that I had purchased it in the mid 90's and squirreled it away. Guess I didn't miss it since my SK 42470 standard 1/2" drive ratchet has done yeoman service all of these years!

Hope this brings a grin or smile to you all. May you all find a forgotten treasure amongst your tool collection!

I just used my 40170 yesterday to tighten some 5/8” Grade 8 bolts, before using the big torque wrench. Yours looks a bit shinier than mine though. Nice find!

Oh, hell it happens to me every day! Getting old is not for the faint of heart or something like that.;):rolleyes:
Yep! Me too. Sometimes looking around and finding some forgotten piece in the back of deep shelves is like going to an estate sale and finding something useful or just cool. And it’s already paid for and right there in your shop!

The flip side benefit is that you’ll find a few things that have been there for years and realize that they should go out to make some more room for stuff you need more room to properly store. Just yesterday, I realized that I owned 4 hacksaws. So I gave away 2 of them to another GJ member who was happy to get them. Win-Win

I have enough tools.
When one says... they had enough beers for the night... doesn't mean ... they will never drink again.

Right now... I have enough tools...
Taken apart... this means...
I have enough tools ... till something catches my eye
I have enough tools ... to get most jobs I will do ... done... till something weird is presented to me.
I have enough tools ... till someone posts some new tool they just got that I also have to own.

You guys have to calm down... I have 72 full drawers... If I buy any more tools... somebody becomes homeless.

Best situation... I break something.

those facom era fine tooth 3/8 ratchets are my favorite. The only one I don't have is the 40175, have every other model in 3/8.

What kind of concrete is in the background? It looks like a neat design.

Well thanks Ton ton. Just an impromptu photo take on the front walk of the house adjacent to the garage where the SK ratchet and its cousins are stabled. Here in the relatively mild seasons of Southern California you can get away with living in a Mid Century Modern home with design aesthetics such as the river rock embedded into concrete (walk).
