AN Wrenches... Any sugestions ?

I have had so much trouble using regular wrenches on these damn AN fittings I'm now willing to try out the actual AN wrench to see if it helps. I don't really know what is a good vs crappy AN wrench.

Right now, I only need a size 10 and I like the design of this guy here:

The thing I like about these is the offset head, I can never get a straight/standard offset wrench in at the right angle.

Should I look to buy a full set or just buy the size I need ? At 25 bux a wrench these guys ain't exactly cheap....

Using a regular wrench on an AN fitting will, as you've found out, damage the pretty finish and ruin that awesome professional/racing look. Using proper AN wrenches is probably your best bet but if you never intend to use AN fittings again, you might be better off getting a Knipex Plier Wrench which work great on AN fittings and can be used on a ton of other projects going forward.

I have the set from Jegs for 69.99 size 4 to 16 very nice , and they do work nice !

Those BluePoint ones look decent and they would have the warranty which would be nice. The thing I really liked about those ones from Joe's is the angle. I have had a hard time with standard wrenches that have about the same angle as those BP wrenches so I'm wondering if I'm better off with something else.

I'm sure I will end up working on enough AN stuff over the course of my life to make a wrench set worth it but I'd like to buy a few wrenches onesy twosy until I find the style I like.

Any other suggestions besides the Snappy/BT ones ?

I do have a few Knippex slip joints.

I have been luck using cman full polish line wrenches, older USA made, no damaged fittings yet, also had mixed luck with snap on wrenches, non fdp, did ruin one -3 AN fitting

Why buy a set if your car only has one or maybe a couple sizes on it.

I have 2ea of the Summit brand -6 -8 -10 and -12 wrenches. They work just fine but just about everywhere on my car is pretty easy to get to.

I work on ALL kinds of stuff all the time, not just my own cars. Besides, if buying a tool just because you might need it some day isn't reason enough to do so then I don't know what is.

Maybe one set of the angled and a second of straight just to cover all the bases

I really like the Tanner ones. I saw those last night. I like that you get the 15 degree and the straight type. I am going to see about getting my hands on the smaller set.

I have the set from joes and they are very nice, the tanner set looks nice but bulky. For me the smaller the set the better and the tanner look really long.

The thin wrenchs that blue point make are junk, they are thin, I think 1/2" and the jones are double the thickness. The blue point will spread open and not fit the fitting very well and the jones dont

I bought the Blue Point set and returned them, my friends $40 Summit set had a better finish and design. I still haven't bought a set of my own, but I don't recommend the Blue Points.
