In my old garage I had a battery operated winch bolted to the floor that I used to pull cars into my garage that were disabled.

The winch took up floor space and was a trip hazard.

I'm considering installing Anchor Pots in my new garage floor and using them to secure my winch when I need to pull a car in.

Has anyone ever used anchor pots for this or would recommend using them or not using them?

I put Champ anchor pots in my floor when it was poured. I put them in a rectangular pattern that Champ had spelled out on their website. Its been almost 5 years and I havent used them any. One day I might need one and it will be there, but so far they are just hiding out. I will say I dont regret it. They are flush with the floor and covered, so it doesnt hurt anything.

I use a winch on a trailer mount hitch so I bought a simple step bumper hitch from hf and bolted to the ground. pulls my wagon up a sloped driveway with no problem ,when I am done its unbolted and nothing to trip on

I have the ac winch from hf. Mounted it on a tailgate grinder mount they sell. Or did I weld it up? Anyway it can fit in a hitch or be secured to the wall with 2x. Then back on the shelf after.
Thought about pull pots but just not enough need in my garage.

I put one in and it works great. Mounted flush. Concrete was 10 years old. Bit to cut hole cost more than the anchor pot.

I welded a 2" receiver tube to 1' square foot of 1/4" plate. The plate was attached to the floor with (4) 1/2" red head concrete anchors. I have a winch mounted to a 2" piece of square tube I slide into the receiver tube when i need to drag in dead cars. I placed my tool chest over top of the receiver tube to avoid trip hazards.

I put in four twenty years ago in a square pattern. Not used every day but VERY handy when you need them!!! Since you haven’t poured the floor yet put them in. Short money now and when you do use them you’ll be glad you spent the bux.

Lots of different uses..

This is what I did. Essentially they, I did 5, are receiver hitches with some rebar welded across on the outside and poured a bit deeper in that area. Use is infrequent, but I have a unistrut rack I built for them as well.

I put 2 inch square tubing like a trailer hitch receiver. Now I can put in an insert with a hook or winch or put in a piece of tubing and use it for a grinder or vise mount. It is flush with the floor. I plan to put a piece of treated wood in it to keep most of the dirt out. I can just put a screw into it to pull it out. If need be a shop vac can clean it out. No trip hazard and multi use. I also put electric conduit in where I will have a walk around work bench. I ran it over to the wall and stubbed it up. Now I have a tube for an air hose or for an electric wire for the work bench. No overhead wires or air lines dangling. Again flush with the floor.

Don't know about receivers, but that build looks very nice. Is that joined onto an existing house, or is that an older garage no the right wall?

I mentioned this in my first post on this but the rack I built using the pots as anchors is really useful on some projects. I built a metal fence with 5x8 panels I fabricated on the unistrut rack. with the strut anchored at the base and fastened to the truss I could fabricate standing up at the elevation I wanted to work at. That saved me having to walk around a large table a million times and or kept me off the floor. for that type project it was a good use of space as well. So, give some thought to the ceiling anchors too. They don't have to be perfectly laid out. That is what the cross piece picked up for me. It takes about 20 minutes to set this rack up and about 10 to take it down.
