Anchors

I have made some crazy anchors and this one I am stumped on it weighs 10.5 Lbs and I dont want it to twist my line. Ideas How to make it work the best

Drill and tap a threaded rod of some sort into the shaft and attach a swivel; attach your anchor chain or line to the swivel. Your anchor looks a lot like a propeller, you know.

Take it to the scrap dealer, use the money to get a proper anchor.

Put it in a large bucket. Fill with concrete. Tie rope to bucket handle.

I don't see it as an anchor at all. Assuming you could get it to dig itself in, it would turn itself out again under very light loads. Lotek or NKlamerus have the best answers.

Personally in that weight range I would probably go with a Danforth. But it depends on the boat size and the type of bottom you are anchoring in.

I have tried 40'. 2 20'ers of railroad Iron and had a boat blow across the lake over night that was a fail!

Large clam shell holds very well in the mud.
