Well the past two days ive been busy. Thursday and friday after work i spent putting up the troffer lights and wiring them all together. And thanks to everyone that helped me out with wiring the front lights to a separate switch, worked like a charm. Trimmed my shelf and work bench with some 5/4x4 that i got off the clearance cart at lowes. Made a removable mdf top for my bench. When it gets wrecked i can just pop out the panels and flip them over. Or when theyre totally trashed, i can just cut some new pieces and replace. Put up some more of the corrugated steel up on the wall behind the bench and some plastic pegboard under the shelf. Hope you guys like it and ive got way too much work left to get everything just the way i want it.

Looking good! Now you'll be able to find whatever you are looking for ;-)

I spent the day in 100% humidity painting my ceiling so I can get the lights up. I've been working my project on floor lamps for WAY too long.

What is the project car you got going there?

Well in that mess somewhere, ive got a 27 Ford sedan and a 31 Ford sedan. Luckily i spent some time cleaning up today so its a little more presentable after the thrash.

Nice - - those lights look like what I been looking to get for my garage.
Are they also from Lowes? If so, were they the $50
And looked like this...

Could you take a closer photo of how you hung them between the beams.
Thanks!

I got these at home depot since my local lowes doesnt carry much in fluorescent lighting. These were like $45 but i had to get one at the local electrical supply and i got raped!! It was $110 and i had to assemble it. But i just nailed up some firing strips on joists so theres a lip for the little wings to hang on to. But before i put my ceiling up, ill nail in some crosspieces that i can screw into from the inside because i dont feel to safe about them being up there the way they are now.

I like 'em.
I am installing 3- 16' rows of T-8s. (doubled up 8 footers). $42 each at HD.

It was on the recommendation of my electrician. Each assembly has 4 -4' tubes, so I'll have a total of 24 bulbs. I figure you'll be able to see the place from space :bounce:

The only concern I have is that they are open and can be broken by flying or careless "whatever". My only saving grace is 11' ceilings.

I like your fixtures because the bulbs are protected a bit.

BTW: I just dug out my old motorcycle from the pile. One more project when the garage is done. Good luck with your project machines!
