well we are coming to a slow start due to a lot of large rocks slowing us down,
but here is where we are at so far.

garage will be 42x35 attached to current home thru a 10x10 mud room/entryway..
here it is after the trees cut down

had to bring in bigger machine

and then had to bring in a bigger machine with jackhammer attachment

he was here maybe an hour before the diaphram let go in the hammer and it was loaded back up..

i will update every once in a while when we see some progress around here..thanks for looking

I did some work in Rhody, it required blasting. The blasting foreman told me a story of one time when a blasting project accidentally launched some granite across a pond and SUNK a sailboat. Bad day.

So what I'm saying is.. Could be worse. Enjoy the project.

Ouch! Bet that hit the pocketbook.

Have the rocks taken away or they will always be in your way.

I used mine to make a retaining wall on the back side so it worked out for me - could have used a few more actually.

Congrats on the build and NICE SIZE!

Regards,

.

If I was near you, I'd surely take some of those rocks off your hands. Good luck with everything.

It's the northeast. Rocks are inevitable. My buddy started building a house a few years back and had to drill alot of rocks and fill with that expandable stuff. Cracks it right in half and makes the rocks more manageable. One shot, although i'm not sure if it would be cheaper compared to the hourly rate that a excavator with a hammer gets.

In the winter you can do that with water. Not sure how much that expandable stuff costs.. Probably not cheap.

Regardless, good choice to build in the summer. Are you building this yourself?

Looking forward to the build - subscribed. Excuse my architectural ignorance, but what style is your house? I've never seen anything like that.

power lines have been a challenge to say the least hahaha

and the rocks will be staying there.. my budget has already been eaten up and they are too expensive to ship out of here
