And my B&D drill torqued itself to death

After about 5 years (actually 7) my cordless drill finally committed suicide. I guess I've still got a good grip. I've been waiting for an excuse to upgrade for so long but I'll really miss the quick change chuck. Does anyone else make a chuck like that?

I should have taken a picture. The one reason I held on to this drill is that you can drill a hole, pop off the chuck and then the screw without any effort. Great idea that even B&D doesn't do anymore. I'll definitely be getting a much higher quality impact/drill combo for Black Friday. But I can't complain about this cheapo since it lasted 5 yrs--actually just realized it's been 7 years (time flies)

At first glance I thought your drill "tunged" it's self to death, the images that came to mind weren't pretty, lol

Bought the rigid combo. Not going lower on price on black Friday. It was either that or the milky but I can always exchange. I agree with others that the balance is good. But haven't gotten it charged yet to see how it handles lag bolts

I have that firestorm drill. Always assumed the style didn't catch on because it elongates the chuck significantly, and mine wobbles a bit when drilling. It isn't terrible, but it did annoy me. Very neat idea, soso execution.

Mine hasn't snapped at the handle yet though...
