Been lurking on the list for a while and have enjoyed all the information put out. Wanted to share some pics from the first two weeks worth of work on my garage. When finished it will be 30'x40' with 10' ceilings.

I'll be posting more as the construction continues.

These are my favorite threads. I love seeing an empty space get turned into a kick *** garage.

I would consider 12 foot ceilings. In the future if you want to go with a lift you will be able to drive a car under the lift. With 10 foot it will be tight.

I agree with the 12' ceiling. I have an 11' 2" ceiling right now and with the Back Yard Buddy overheight lift I will be able to fit my 'Vette up top with a minivan underneath....barely.

Thanks for the kind words and encouragement.

I'm not really thinking of anything extrodinary, just a place where I can keep my toys and work on my truck year round. Since I have an 05 F-250 that measures 7'5" from floor to top of the roof rack, I didn't even consider a lift. As nice as it would be, the thought of keeping the garage heated and cooled with a 15' (or higher ceiling) kinda made it a non-starter for me. Besides, most of the stuff I do on the truck can easily be accomplished on a creeper.

Just got off the phone with the builder and the block should be delivered tomorrow with the mason putting it up on Friday.

Here's a pic of my truck and my wife's new Jeep.

Enjoy,

Andy

Nice clean job on the footings...
I have a completed (almost) 30X36 that I started in Oct. 2003 witha full loft upstairs. It took a little over a year for me to build it on the weekends and any spare moment that I could get but it was all worth it. You'll be glad once it's all finished.
Keep up posted on the progress.

Been a while since my last photo update. Here's the latest and greatest. Plan of attack for this week is to level the ground in preperation for the pour and some exterior work before the roof gets done and the siding put on.
