I used to go to Anderson's Old Tool swap meet every chance I got. There are a lot of excellent, user, tools there, mostly wood working, but all other trades too. And the prices were reasonable. Lots of wrenches and sockets too. Joe Huld, you should go and see what's there. The people who put that on hold other Old Tool swap meets, but the one at Anderson's is always the best. And should you need plywood, Anderson's has the largest selection of plywood I've ever seen--they don't sell lumber, just plywood. Last time I was there they had some 1" thick ply, with several colors of phenolic coating on one side for $600 a sheet, but DAMMMMM it was pretty.
I have been going to Anderson since it started 23 years ago. Prior to that I was a regular at the swap meet held at Andy Andersons Old Tools shop (no relation to Anderson Plywood) in Santa Monica. When Andy passed away in 1998 John Arenson, owner of Anderson Plywood, offered to host a similar event at his business in Culver city and it has been going ever since. I've missed 2 shows since 1998. Anderson doesn't sell construction grade lumber but usually has some pretty nice hardwood lumber.

The Swap Meet was interesting , and yes you need to get there early 5:10 am was late !
I did get a spot , sold a few small things ,
did not see much sheet metal equipment , a few hammers and dollies , i think its the luck of the draw and what the sellers picked up since the last meet ,
It was interesting enough that I plan on going to the next one in February

Thanks Joe. It's a first series '55. I bought it to replace a '54 that I had restored, and which was stolen by gang members--I never saw it again. When I got it, it had no glass, no trans, rear-end was shot, no interior, no gauges, BUT, it also had no rust! I did all the resto work myself, except painting the cab and bed. It was my daily driver for 9 years.
I loved Andy's place. I started going there when he was on Entrada Drive, in Santa Monica canyon. But his rent was raised, and it was good that it was raised, because he found the place on Olympic Blvd, which was 2+ times as large as the S.M. Canyon place. Andy, at that time, had multiple storage units chock full of old tools, and the Olympic Blvd. place gave him a chance to display a lot more stuff. But I never went to his swap meets. I lived 10 blocks away, and would stop in to his place once a week, like clockwork. Boy do I miss Andy and his place.
