Angle Grinder Holder

I'm looking for something like this to use for the odd times that I need to cut steel. I'd like to hear if there are any that are more optimal than this one.

Years ago I was looking for a stand that I could use a handheld drill as a drill press. Friend talked me out if it as it's not likely to be very precise and will probably vibrate and walk and be everything a DP is not.

With the exception of the portaband tables (and depending on what you do some of the Dremel/Proxxon accessories), I would suggest something meant to hold a portable tool isn't going to work as well as you want no matter what the tool is.

A dedicated one that your grinder attaches to with the handle tapped holes would be ok. I'd like to see more of a fence than the cut off saw guide it has. I had to trim off 1/4" on one wall of some 1/8" angle iron yesterday and had to do it free hand with my angle grinder. Well I actually clamped a piece of flat iron along the cut line to use as a guide but it would have been nice to slide the angle iron along a fence to get the job done. (I'm waiting for my bandsaw blades to be custom built so this is my only recourse). The price is right for this set up but just wished it had a fence too.

I don't like that clamp mounting system. I agree with another commenter that said it would be OK if it mounted by the handle holes. 63 reviewers gave it almost 5 stars but I have my doubts.

I bought one of these just for cutting bolts and small items.......it works fine once you get everything mounted and adjusted......

It was worth the twenty bucks!

Here's a whole page of them. Some are quite pricey. I almost bought the 20 dollar job on Amazon just now until better sense took over making me realize I wouldn't use it much if ever. Just another tool on the shelf.

I bought one one these years ago from HF when they were on sale for about $50.
14" & 2 hp

I think I would use one for small stuff. Don't know if I can make one for less than 20.00. I found some cut off wheels that are 6"x7/8 so I could easily cut up to 1-1/2" tubing.

I have a 12" saw but it is not user friendly for small stuff.
