Hi, I just bought this thin turbo diamond blade. There's no direction arrow on the blade. My Makita angle grinder has a right direction arrow when looking from top (cord at rear). When fitting the blade to my angle grinder, which way should these be fitted? i.e. should the label be inwards towards motor or outwards towards the locking nut?

Also, when fitting a regular carbide flat cutting blade (they have a metal ring around the hole on one side), should the metal ring be inwards towards motor or outwards towards the locking nut? Never seen a direction arrow on flat cutting blades. After a few hours of searching I have not found anything authoritative from safety organisations or manufacturers

If you look right below the "Turbo" in the purple bar is a pictogram showing which way the disc should spin.

When you say regular carbide blade, do you mean a standard abrasive disc?

Thanks, I see the pictogram...but I don't understand it

EDIT: I see it now, I believe it's the small white circular arrows in the black bar below the 'Turbo' in the purple bar. Initially I thought it was the pictogram above the "Turbo". Those arrows are tiny (2mm across)!!

Handheld angle grinders spin clockwise, to the right, in working position.
Your diamond wheel would be placed label up, where its seen during use.
If you apply that rule of thumb to all wheels, you’ll be working safe.

With diamond blades if the arrow is wore out or missing you can actually determine which direction the blade should go by looking at the diamonds. They will look like a shooting star

that is the direction that the blade needs to spin

I am constantly taking blades off and on my concrete saws and usually the arrow is missing after the first time

In my experience, it doesn't really seem to matter. But usually most of them are designed to be installed label side toward the grinder body.

I agree. For instance the label on a depressed center wheel Is on the “high” side which faces the grinder body.
