Re: Anglr grinder ????

pin spanners are pretty common items in the bicycle repair world, you might be able to have a bike shop order you something similar to the link below. If you want heavy duty Hozan tools are really stoutly built (may cost as much as teh grinder is worth).

I have also seen universal (one hinged side) pin spanners at princess auto once (horrible freight may have the same.

If that fails how about some flat steel with some gr8 1/4" bolts set in with the ends ground to fit?

Make your own wrench. Take a flat piece of metal, drill the two holes.insert two pins. spot weld. Shape your tool for feel and your done.

Any decent hardware store or tool store should have a rack filled with all the different spanner wrenches for grinders.

I don't know anyone who even uses the wrench. You just grip onto the disc and twist it by hand.

The Harbor Freight one is really all you need. And in case you hadn't figured it out, there's also a button on any angle grinder that lets you stop the wheel from turning when you're changing discs.

Remember to unplug it before you change discs, too.

Yup. Worst comes to worst, big pair of channel-locks around the outside of the nut (usually for when a cut-off wheel breaks)

Needle nose pliers have worked fine for me when I forget my wrench. Shouldn't be on that damn tight, to where they will work...

I just grip the disc and twist. Very rare is it to find it tight enough to require the wrench.
It helps if you know not to overtighten it when installing. If it slips during operation, it self tightens, so there's little reason to ever get it more than hand tight.
