Angled drywall to basement wall trimming?

I have framed out my basement except for the transition to the staircase area as I want to keep the landing as large as possible and adding a wall would take a way 4" of the 40" area which I did not want. So I built the wall short of the staircase and want to transition from the framed wall to the concrete wall w/ about a 60 degree angle of drywall. MY question is, when the drywall is cut the cut end that will **** up against my foundation wall will be 1/2" thick and ugly. Is there a way to trim this out? I'm not about to put that much caulk in there and paint it. I suppose I could have the drywall guy bevel the backside of this piece to sit flush but is there a good way (Typical) to do this?

Thanks,
Dave

anybody that is anything with taping is able to mud that .
I would probably cut back the inside corner drywall a bit so it sits tighter to the wall. a corner bead on the outside corner .

Do you just paint that j bead? How does the J bead secure to the drywall? This drywall will **** up to a concrete wall that isn't perfectly plumb whereas my wall will be so I can't just slide that J bead on and go, it'll have to protrude a bit more from the top than the bottom.

Hey Dave, I'm needing to do something similar to what you were asking about and came across this post. How did yours turn out? Any tips or final pics you can share? Thanks!

Angled walls always look odd to me. I would drywall as a 90 degree corner and use corner bead for a clean finish.

A Stanley Sureform tool is very handy for removing gypsum & paper at a angle to achieve a tighter fit, works great to trim drywall pieces to fit too.

Thanks for sharing! Looks good! Is the part without framing just drywall attached to the the foundation or did you also put something like foam insulation behind it?
