Gday guys, long time lurker first time poster :)

My name's Ben, most people just call me Angry (I look like Rose Tattoo's Singer, Angry Anderson and my last name is actually Anderson :bounce: ).

This is my "Man-Land" or my "Man-sion" as I like to call it, a 12m x 7m (40ft x 23ft) all steel shed setup, complete with 7m x 4m (23ft x 13ft) mezzanine floor with workshop area underneath, a 12m x 3m (40ft x 10ft) lean to area for storage and a 2 car carport off the front of the shed. It's situated on 889m2 of land along with our 5br house in suburbia in Queensland Australia.

Due to the design of the house, access is through a 16m x 3m (53ft x 10ft) garage which fits 3 cars lengthways with enough room to be able to open the doors on the vehicles and walk around them. Single electric door opens to the street and a seperate roller door splits the access to the back area. The garage walls are sheeted in corrugated iron for a rustic look and comes complete with a 8m x 2.5m (26ft x 8ft) mural on the wall of a couple of early 30's Ford hot rods and a rusting 57 Chev.

ManLand is wired up with 15a wiring to run the welders/hoist, with sufficient points located around the shed supplied off a seperate circuit breaker setup. Lights are taken care of via twin fluro's located in all areas. Phone and antenna for TV are also located in the workshop area.

Storage is taken care of from some Dexion racking as well as 2 fold in door storage cabinets which are lockable, one full height twin door metal cupboard, 3 x storage compartments located under work bench and assorted clip trays for nuts and bolts. There is a parts washer located near the corner along with a washtub/washing facilities. Sound is taken care of from a laptop hooked up to my amp and home cinema system.

I love my cars, love to modify them, especially Australian "Muscle Cars" or "Street Machines" although definetly am not adverse to American Muscle or customs, I've owned a few over the years and will be acquiring another one for the stable shortly. I do as much modification as I can at home except for panel work due to lack of experience, the green vehicle shown is a genuine 1974 Holden Monaro GTS/4 which is fairly modified, currently I am doing a Big Block Chev conversion on it for a future weekend warrior.

Future modifications:

Flooring - Want to vinyl the workshop floor area and "paint" the rest of the area with a good easy to clean coating to help keep stains to a minimum.

Mezzanine floor - Going to enclose the mezzanine floor area in, it is currently only being used for storage, deck it out with a couch, TV, air con etc etc

Lean to - We are going to convert this into a "home brew" area, I believe you guys call it "Moonshine", over here in Australia we can home brew any form of beer or spirits at home legally, although we can't sell it. Being a bourbon connoisseur we will be definitely having a crack at bourbon first to see how we go.

Walls - Unsure what I want to do with them atm, thinking about gyprocking them (mates a plasterer) with insulation behind, the summers here are quite humid but the winters are nowhere near as cold as yours. I aim on installing an aircon setup for summer, a mate installs new aircon into large warehouses and often comes across old units being thrown away so it's an option.

Hoist - In the next couple of months a brand new 4.5t twin post clear floor hoist will be going in on the right hand side of the shed to allow easier access on the vehicles to work on.

Yeah, so that's pretty much my "ManLand" as she currently sits, let us know your thoughts/ideas as to how you think I can make it better

Cheers

I like the looks of the Monaro. It looks like it has a Pontiac nose or a hint of a '70 Lemans on the front and looks like a '70 rear bumper off of the Biscaynes we have over here.

Had to look up the word "seppo" :wtf: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=seppo

I really like your facilities, shop and drive in garage and all of it. It is nice to have something so usable. Here in the USA we are pretty much vanilla in our square two car buildings. What I enjoy a lot are the way you and others have put your spaces to good use. I really like the looks of your shop area, it just seems to feel right from the photos you posted. Let us know if you add something or make changes. Great Spaces!!!

Yeah that particular front reminds me a lot of the GTO style front, it's actually not the original front, they are all interchangeable, the original front which I'm putting back on looks like this:

Thanks mate, one of the things that was most important was to be able to have a decent work area, but easy access to storage and to have everything laid out without having to walk over the other side of the shed to retrieve it, or upstairs.

I've been keeping an eye on your sheds over the last couple of years, there are some crackers I've seen with big barn style ones and ones with full facilities, most of our sheds are bare metal whereas I noticed a lot of yours are gyprocked and ultra neat. As much as I like the surgical look of them, I get too dirty in my shed so would be ultra paranoid if I had some of the interiors you guys have. Not to mention that a lot of stuff you guys can pop down to a Home Depot for, we don't have here and certainly nowhere near as cheap as what it seems to be there, that's for sure.

wellcome to this site.you didn't get any damage from the floods did you.Nice monaro less 4doors than than the 2doors. Ray.

No, my work went under quite badly but home was dry as a button, little surreal sitting in the pool having a beer with mates when 20 miles away peoples houses are innundated with water.

Hell of a lot less 4 doors around now than the coupes, I love the coupes but I've been seeing too many of them lately and the prices for them are bordering on insane. Used to be common practice back in the day to buy a base model coupe and a GTS/4 in the same colour and transfer all the good stuff to the coupe, then sell/wreck/demo the GTS/4 off. I'm only missing the front seats in mine as someone has replaced them with race style seats, very hard to find and I refuse to pay $750 + for a set............
