I'm pleased to announce that I will be buying the inventory of Central Hardware (http://www.centralhardwareonline.com/) of Roselle, IL. Look for a new classified ad here on GJ in late April with lots of new offerings.

Yes, there will be metric, and stainless, plus lots of smaller items such as machine screws, sms, etc. I will be giving GJ members first crack at this stuff, before I put it on ebay.

Yes, there will be something for everyone. Getting everything put away and organized will be a challenge. My shop is much smaller than Central's. There is a lot of stuff--over 2,500 different items!

Glad you posted this. Been wanting to catch up with yu to pick up some electrical stuff. Any idea when all of this will be on your web site list? (I'm checking it now) There are a few items I really need!

FWIW, your web site is down.

I will probably be interested in metric fasteners...8, 10, and 12 bolts. Do you think there will be a decent selection of metric stuff?

I'm going to start a new thread when everything is ready. Should be towards the end of April.

I brought back the bulk of the product to my shop today. 12, 48x40" skids, just over 14,000lbs of product. I still have to go back and grab some more stuff, maybe another 1000lbs or so. Then it will be time to start going through it. As you can see you the pics below, I don't have very much room to work with, so it will take some time. No way will I hit my original estimate of being able to ship product end of April/beginning of May, since I only got my hands on the stuff today, more than three weeks later than anticipated.

In the mean time, enjoy the teaser pics.

I tried to look at your inventory list. It is in excel extension xlsx which I believe is Office 2007 or later. Any chance you post as xls list which is Office 2003 and earlier?

Thanks!!

After realizing how handy it is to have a good stock of fasteners (thanks to you!) I may have to resupply and expand. Any chance of getting a few assortments together, a hex assortment, socket head, retaining ring, yadda yadda. Assotments of a type, not a broad scope of everything. That would make it easier...at least for us hope shop guys, haha.

I most likely will do assortments of smaller stuff this time around, if there is enough demand. This lot has a ton of little stuff--sheet metal screws, machine screws, that kind of stuff. I should have around 1,000 different items when I'm done, if not more.

I would estimate that I'm about 20% done going through it, and it looks like I will run out of rack space (and there is no more floor space for more racks) before I'm done...

If anyone wants to have a look at what's there so far, the up to date inventory lists are published on my website. I still have to work out the pricing on the small items. A straight price per pound doesn't scale well when there are hundreds of little screws to a pound.

Edit: I won't be taking orders until I'm done with the inventory.

sounds good. I look forward to seeing what you come up with. I have some strange obsession with kits and assortment packs :bounce:

Well, I think I've weighed the last of the screws today. I still have to do some pins, rivets, and plastic fasteners, but those will probably wait until later. I'll be starting a new thread once I've finished all of the data entry!
