Annoying ads on GJ

Just today I've been startled by "Steve falling off a ladder..." an Angie's list audio advertisement three times.

Passive ads are one thing but now my phone has to be a loudspeaker for whatever randomness an ad server decides to dish out? No thanks.

On my desktop, I block these ads. But I can't on my phone, and I can't just mute my browser without muting my entire phone, thus I have to potentially miss phone calls, texts and other actually important functions my phone provides, just so I can surf GJ without disturbing everyone around me with aggresive marketing audio clips.

I understand GJ is a business, and the need for income. But really? This is pretty intrusive and annoying, and instead of being one of the top three forums I frequent daily, GJ will be a place I only visit from my desktop when I need to research specific topics.

Sorry, great forum. But no thanks to aggressive advertising.

You evidently think you're entitled to everything for free, and piss and moan about it to complete strangers online when you don't get it.

Here's a reality check for you: Ads pay the bills. They aren't going away. Since you're saying "no thanks " to "aggressive advertising" it was nice knowin' ya.
