Hello everyone! My name is Matt. I've been lurking on this site for probably the last 7 or so years. I've also lurked the HAMB for the last 14 or so as well. I'm constantly amazed by the vast amount of knowledge that is shared out there. In a few weeks I'll finally be closing on a new house just outside of NW Austin, TX. I've spent the last 10 years living in apartments using multiple single car garages to do everything from complete teardown/rebuilds on cars and motorcycles to furniture building to full on painting. Needless to say, it was time to get something bigger.

So after a long search and many offers thrown out, I found a blank slate that suits my needs. Lucky me it is already set up with 230v outlets, an epoxied floor and good lighting. Perfect since I wanted to upgrade my compressor anyways and I can finally use my welder to its full potential.

Immediate plans are to figure out the best way to organize my tools and such and then get some cabinets built and installed. I need to get ready for my next car project! I'm sure I will start trying to chime in on more topics and possibly ask some questions if the search function can't find an answer.

Thanks for looking!

- Matt

Howdy ! Welcome to GJ, from southTexas. Looks like you could use the help of an electrician form that last photo. Good luck with your new digs.

Welcome, I love a good 2 car garage.
Not confident in that electrical but there's always room for improvement.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! I do plan on cleaning up that outlet and a few other sketchy wiring situations in the attic. Like that dangling extension cord running from the garage opener to the middle of the lights. Looks like that was possibly a ceiling fan. Not sure why, but it appears the PO put new outlets every 8 feet or so inside the house as well.

Once I start making some progress I might make a thread about it.

Thanks again!
