I was just reading the adhesive removal thread where the OP is removing flooring for a new Taco Shop (or Tacoma Shop if you read the thread early on).

I need to remove Gorilla Tape residue from a rubber window gasket. I broke the rear quarter window on my Jeep Cherokee a few months ago, and due to other things going on in my life I just taped it up. Now it's time to fix it, but when I pulled the broken window out, the gasket had a lot of sticky residue left from the tape. Gorilla tape is basically duct tape on steroids, but I'm not having much luck so far.

I'm going to try the methods in that other thread, but I'm hoping someone may have a magic bullet for tape residue.

Thanks!

MEK and cheesecloth. The MEK will break down the residue and the cheesecloth with trap it and provide a soft abrasive. I usually wet the cheesecloth and not the car. That way you don't have solvent going everywhere.

OK, thanks for the suggestions. I will see what I can find.

I should mention that I have the rubber gasket out of the vehicle, so no worries about the paint.
