Hi all, I thought it was about time I started a thread on the refurb on my backyard shed. It is still a work in progress but we are getting towards the end of the journey now.

Firstly a few pics of the outside:-

The shed was built and had been in place for quite a while when I bought the place.

The side with the two roller doors will be parking for my two projects a 69 mustang fastback and a 56 F100. The other side will be a workshop area and a gym area.

The interior when this started was just a disaster basically.

This is where I started with stuff all over the place and completely disorganised. This shed has always been a bit of a compromise because in my view it is not deep enough and it is not high enough to allow me to have a lift. We are hoping one day to move to a small acreage block where I can build a larger and purpose built set up.

Small shops are a real challenge. With two project vehicles you will need to be creative when it comes to storage, work surfaces, and tool placement. A lot of very well executed car projects have been built in much smaller shops and I'm sure you will get it right as well. Jack Olsen's 12 Gauge Garage is a good source of ideas. You can find the thread hear or go to his web site http://12-gaugegarage.com/ . Good luck.

Thanks for sharing 69Fastback its great to see another Aussie shed on the GJ.

As Bib Overalls said above a small shop can be a challenge, from your pics the outside looks fantastic and you have made some great progress on the inside as well.

My approach would be to look at how you would ultimately like it to be set up. Mine is not that much bigger than yours but I do have a grand plan but first I am tackling the Ugly Areas one at a time with that grand plan in mind. It has not happened over night and I just keep chipping at it bit by bit as a side project so to speak.

I can see lots of potential in yours.

All the best with it and keep us posted.

Regards
