Sorry you can't '****' yourself. I looked at this myself but decided against the single post design. Hope it works for you :)

No **** for you, as mentioned.

The deal ***** OUT LOUD, however as I discovered self suckage is impossible, nor is it allowed.

It's a learning curve. Got caught up in the moment myself.

I might not rate on the suckage scale, but I still got a big pile of good ****.

Sounds like you got screwed, no suckage.

I guess it may be a good deal in your area or maybe it is the only thing that will fit your space, but $1000 is way too much money.

Really?... have you priced lifts lately?... Especially a name brand one.. I guess I got screwed when I bought my like new Rotary 9000 lb 2 post lift for $1200 too...Darn...

You got a good deal, but a benwil has not been made for years and getting parts can be hard. I have seen several in my area for $550 to $650 asking price. Benwil is a good lift, but if something goes wrong he may have trouble getting parts. You should have no trouble for the rotary.

I'm trying to figure out this "single post above ground lift".

It has one post, and four fold out arms to reach both sides of the car, they are usually only rated for smaller cars. You can put the post close to the wall and fold the arms out of the way, but they are limited.

I would have to see it but it dose not sound like a good idea to me. I have 2 two post above ground Rotary's at my disposal when I need one and they worry me as far as balance some times. JMO.

I figured he was buying it to fit a tight space, it will work, but trying to change a transmission will be near impossible. I am not sure if you could do exhaust repairs or driveshaft changes. I shouldn't have been as harsh, but he did solicit a "****" so I was all ready agitated.

I guess he decided against the internet or at least this forum. He has deleted all his recent posts. Racer1 you need to remember that opinions are like a$$holes, everyone has one. Take a look at any post and you will get mixed feelings on almost every subject. Don't run away because a few people you don't know didn't like the price you paid for an item. No one here has all the answers that is why sometimes you have to sift through the bad to get what you want. I will admit I was a little harsh about the price and I apologize if I offended you, but you tried sucking yourself and that always brings out the worst here. Just remember it is always better if you play it cool and let someone else **** you.

The OP clearly broke rules by nominating himself for a "you ****". I totally get that.
However, he did state clearly that he was looking for this type of lift for a specific reason, and apparently he had done some homework on that front. Unfortunately, a bunch of keyboard commandos decided to cut loose and tear him down on every front, including the price.
After looking at new single post lifts, I'd have to say that he was getting a good deal. I think that many of the responses were from people who didn't do any research and just shot from the hip.
I just hope he'll come back again and share his experience for the benefit of all.

When someone tries to give themselves credit for a great deal, it better be a great deal otherwise what happens....happens. That is all I am going to say. I have had many dreams and ideas slammed on internet forums, you have to get a thicker skin or go home. Apparently he went home.

I simply decided it wasn't worth having a battle of wits with unarmed people.. Have a nice day

why battle, if you're happy who cares what anyone else thinks? as someone said earlier, you had likely done a lot of homework to arrive at the conclusion it was a great deal for you and it fit your needs, thats all that really matters. anyway, hate to see anyone go, everyone has something to contribute, you may not always agree and not everyone will agree with you, but in the end we all learn something.

for example, I am glad to learn about this lift, I had no idea they even existed. I plan to put in a mezzanine and this looks like it would also make a great freight elevator. good luck with your shop.

The lift in question doesn't go very high, I believe it is somewhere between a mid-rise and full walk under.
