I have been working on plans/permits for a new garage/workshop building for about 3 years now...

My plans call for a 40' by 40' by 16' high steel building, insulated, with 2 large roll-up doors for all my toys. The building will have an office, a full bath and a utility room for electrical equipment and an air compressor.

I have an eclectic collection of toys including a 1930 Model A Ford Sport Coupe, (original), a 1967 Lotus Elan, 1969 BSA 441 Victor motorcycle (qty 2), and a Yale forklift. Modern family vehicles include 2002 Camry, 2005 Matrix, 2005 GMC Sierra and 2007 Camry. I do all my own mechanical work on vehicles.

The current status of the project:
1. Grading is done
2. Slab and foundation are in and complete
3. Awaiting scheduling of the contractor to erect the steel building, should be done in the next 2 weeks.
4. I plan on finishing the rest, including installing metal stud interior walls, electrical and painting, etc.

Like everyone else, I am looking at issues like heaters, floor coatings, lighting, etc., etc. This is a great site to discuss common problems/issues that we all have! Looking forward to learning a lot...
