The clock mechanism, neon tubes, and inverter for the neon for this one came from a *gasp Snap-On dual-tube neon clock that was given to the shop by our Snap-On guy. We weren't going to use a Snap-On clock in the car audio shop and when I started making a shop clock we pulled the Snap-On clock from storage to cannibalize for parts.

The joke was made the other day that, since this clock is being made from a 12" woofer it's always "twelve o'clock".

And then there was question as to whether or not I was on the clock. At the time I was literally working on this clock so one of the guys said "Of course you're working 'on the clock'". That one took a second or two to process.

I missed this. That's glass. It's part of the original clock.

Cut some aluminum Formica and wrapped the sides. Glued it with a strap clamp.

Put the face plate on and routed the Formica I put on the sides to fit.

Faceplate got some Formica then I stuck it in place and routed it to fit. This put the visible edge of the Formica on the side of the clock and not on the clock face. The red neon tube is inside the clock body. I was limited with what I could do because of the size of the neon and the legs on the neon. I decided to drill holes for 12, 3, 6, and 9 and be done with it.
