Another Cold Weather Polyaspartic Odor Issue

I am new to this forum, found it in researching odor issues after epoxy base/flakes/polyaspartic topcoat install by local contractor with great reputation/references. I am still having bad odor issues after 4 months of non stop ventilation.

I have read through some of the related threads and am trying to understand if the source of the odor is a.) the floor is still spewing it out; b.) the finished walls & ceilings have absorbed it and they are the culprit or c.) both. Could really use some advice from some of the industry experts here as to how to make this determination.

I had my floor put down in Dec. right as temps in Memphis dropped from 50s~60s to 40s and below then stayed there all winter. My garage, 10 years old, is below living space that has the smell in it as well. At the end of the install the foreman shut the doors and advised leaving them shut for a couple of hours as the leaves were swirling all about and he was afraid they would blow in and stick to the floor. Of course this really stunk things up. After two hours we opened the two 12' OHD and the two man doors, as well as opened all the windows in the upstairs over the garage. Had to turn the heat off that night upstairs in the 30 degree temps and the whole house stunk.

If the source is the surrounding walls and such that absorbed the smell and still stinking from it, then I am thinking about using an Ozone generator as a last resort before grinding it off. I keep reading cautions concerning use of ozone generator if you are not aware of what the reactions to other materials may be. Seeing that I allowed my "reputable" contractor to talk me into doing this install in below 40 degree temps as my first mistake, I do not want to walk blindly into another mistake.

If the floor is still releasing the odor then I guess I have to consider grinding it off and redoing it, which seems radical to me as the floor looks great. Any advise anyone may have is welcome.

We have seen a number of polyaspartic projects that were applied in very cold weather outgas for quite a while, but it eventually goes away. If you can live with it, try that until the end of summer and then reevaluate.

Thanks for the advise/encouragement. I could really use some help determining if the floor is still outgassing. Does anyone know of a test that can answer this?

Mbrant, you've probably seen my other thread, but the solution for us ended up being a coat of zero-VOC clear over the top. This stopped our smell issue immediately.
