Another Compressor ID... IMC

Looking at buying this compressor, owner can't provide much info since they were given to him after a friend's passing.

Hoping the GJ crowd can help.

It's an older IMC compressor (BelAirre?), with what looks like aftercoolers. Am I correct? 120 gal, with the Doerr motor, but it doesn't say what the HP of the motor is.

I'm guessing that it's two stage, with SCFM north of 15 @90 psi. Would this be a safe assumption? Looking for a compressor for the garage.

More pics, it's at least an 80 gal tank, if not 120. working pressure is listed as 200 psi, with a stage pump with aftercoolers. Motor googled to a 5HP unit.

Anyone have an idea of what this monster is or the output?

Looks like a decent unit. I have an Energair II with a similar looking pump, though it's a little bigger. Anything 115 cfm or over is usually plenty of air to run most tools. I run a blast cabinet off mine just fine.

I guess the next question is if it's a good deal at $900?

It's a 1984 model, oil looked dirty in the sight glass.

That's pretty high IMO. I paid $650 for my slightly larger compressor, and it looked brand new. This one should sell between $400-600 most days.

Yeah for that price you can almost buy a new compressor....

I would keep looking. You can also check the tank to see what spits out the bottom.

Like gtermini said, $400-$600 would be a fair price.

I'm thinking the CH will be plenty for my uses (DA sander, blast cabinet)

Looks to be the equivalent of the current 318V or 318VN, which is a 5HP, 80 Gallon unit. The pump on the old machine is still in use with only a few updates. Gaskets and valves are still available for that pump, except for lower end stuff like rods and crank.
