Another Compressor Question

My first question, I've done a few searches and didn't find an answer. I have recently bought an 80 gallon upright compressor, I'm going to install it in the back corner of my garage. My question, can I leave the compressor on the pallet I bought it on? Will it hurt it by leaving it attached to pallet?

There are several on here that have left their compressor on the pallet as a vibration suppression with much success.

Years back I had a compressor in my basement it ran on the pallet for several years hurt nothing, absorb noise and vibration. Got a new one and placed it out side for full sonic buffering. You will be fine, I see no downside and it will not walk. Be sure you have a flex line to the supply piping

That's what I was hoping for. I want to eventually put it outside mounted to a concrete slab. I just don't have the slab yet and need to start using it.

Be aware that the pallet may degrade over time, eventually cracking or falling apart. If exposed the elements, then rot can set in. You should have time before that happens.

I do recommend a strap or tie from the top frame to a fixed mount on the wall just to keep it from tipping over in case of disaster. This can be as simle as polyurethane rope.

Thought I would hijack/piggyback on this thread since it was about new compressors. I also have a new 80 gallon compressor (that will be staying on the pallet). I have done a search for my question but came up with nothing. I read on here a while ago about after running the break in period, to change the oil. What oil is recommended?

I would think it would depend on the manufacturers recommendations, but I could be wrong. It wouldn't be the first time I was wrong and probably not the last. Just my guess.

Sure, you can leave your compressor on the shipping pallet. I've had my compressor in the original shipping crate for about 10 years. It's just a pallet, with 1 x 4 framework all around the compressor. It's kind of amazing that it's still in the crate since I'm the third owner. It was originally used in the repair shop of an amusement park.
