Hey everyone,

So I've been searching through Google and GJ for a answer to my question and I haven't found a clear one yet. I'm thinking of buying a little bit older Craftsman 5HP 30 gallon air compressor from my uncle for 150 dollars. I've been looking at new compressors and thinking of buying this one because it's about the sixe I've been looking for and less than half the price of the ones I've been looking at. Only problem is that currently it's wired for 210. My uncle told me it could be wired for 110 and it would be just fine. I really don't know much about house and garage wiring or anything like that so I'm honestly not sure. I aasnt able to find a model number on the motor but I got one off the compressor itself.

So what're your guys thoughts and opinions? I personally don't think it can be wired for 110, but like I said I don't know much about this type of stuff. If I do decide to buy it and it can't be wirdd for 110 I would be asking my future father inlaw if I could have a qualified electrician come out and wire a 210 outlet up in the shop/barn as my fiance and I are renting his old house.

Thanks.

You would have to look for the motor plate and that would tell you if it's possible for 120 and would have a diagram to do it. If you could find the model number of the motor then might be able to look it up,but by looking at the one pic it looks like it's 220 only.

Thanks. I'll try looking at the motor plate next time I get over there.

Label says 240 v / 15A.
Most of the time, If it can be changed, both voltage / amperage ratings would be listed.
