I didn't want to hijack vrinner's thread but his question reminded me of a similar problem in my metal building. Hoping for some ideas on a solution.
Building is 40x60x16 with insulated roof only (I realized later of the mistake to not insulate the walls.....). My problem is caused by lack of insulation beneath the translucent fiberglass panels in the roof. The condensation occurs only rarely during winter months but can cause serious problems depending on what is below the several spots where the dripping occurs.
Would applying some spray foam on the underside of the purlins where the fiberglass panels are mounted prevent this problem? Only other idea I thought about was remove each panel and wrap insulation around the exposed purlins.
Thoughts/suggestions?
