Hello! I just stumbled upon this forum while researching garage attic truss modifications and I got so excited. This forum is so perfect for me I can't wait to browse and contribute!

A little about me, I'm a shop guy, live and breathe it and always have. Also a tool guy. My brother and myself have collected most tools that exist and even some pretty unique ones. We have been doing this our whole lives since I was about 6 years old. I'm currently 26 and recently moved out of my brothers house leaving behind our first shop to branch off with my own shop.

And here she is:

I have only lived here a few months. To be honest she's not as big as I'd like but it will have to do. [emoji12] It's 25x30ft inside dimension with dual 10ft wide doors.

The plans are enormous! As I said I just moved in so the garage is bare bones and I haven't started anything yet. In fact this is how it currently sits.

The plan so far is:
Complete rewire
Insulation
Drywall
Epoxy floors
Natural gas forced air furnace ( already picked up a 40,000 btu furnace )
Lighting
And a car hoist! Already got this too

There is also somewhat plans to convert the trusses into a room for additional shop space...... (it's 8/12 pitch!!!)

Again though back to me, I am a certified machinist - I work in the automation field, avid wood worker and jack of all trades. I have lots of plans to build cars too. I call myself a project addict.

Thanks so much for this great place! Ask me anything!

Zac

ZAC: if you need a little help maybe finding things in the forum if you can't find in a search or a GOOGLE SEARCH with Garage Journal as part of your search parameter you can PM (private message) me and i'll try to help since i'm on maybe close to 5,000 threads.

at 61 my memory isn't that great, but GJ keeps me on my toes and i love the members and the information i learn here.

for being only 26 that is some house and congrats. also looks like you have some good plans. are you keeping that wall in the middle of your garage cause it doesn't look like a bearing wall or is it?

welcome to the forum and hope to see your posts on some of the vintage tools threads and other threads i enjoy.

cheers

BTW that picture of the girl in the wedding dress below is my little girl that is also 26 and youngest of my 5.
