Another grandpa barn find

Found another tool that grandpa had stashed that were not sure what it's purpose is there's no stampings or markings

Almost certainly for a handsaw. If you've never used a good, sharp hand saw--say a Disston from the 1940's--cutting with one is a pleasure. I've used a saw set and a saw vise before, but it's been a few years since I did.
