I looked through several of the other vise threads and couldn't really find one that I felt this post belonged in so I just created a new post. I bought this vise for $15 at a thrift shop and it's got a very unique handle design so I'm curious if it's something other than just a hunk of Chinese iron. Even if it's just a generic item I still think it was a nice grab. The jaw movement and handle spinning is easily the most buttery smooth that I've ever had on any vise. I just can't find any markings other than what appear to be the generic casting markings. It has obviously been repaired, but whoever did it did a very good job as the jaws are still very well aligned. Any thoughts or input would be greatly appreciated thank you.

There are several WW vises with flat bars for handles, but that is first I've seen where it is perpendicular to the gripping faces.

Any chance you've removed the handle on yours for any reason?
I bought the same vise off FB marketplace a couple of weeks ago, and disassembled it to clean it up and paint it. Having trouble with getting the handle back in to the lead screw head. Pretty sure the two flat springs go in front of the handle to hold it to the rear so the detents work, but orienting them with the V pointing to the rear doesn't leave enough room for the handle to slide in. With the V pointing forward, the springs slide back and forth enough that the ends protrude from the side of the head.
