Im going to be getting a box soon and I am leaning towards a HF 56 with the 44 top. I understand this combo works, but can I add the side box designed for the 44" box to the 56" bottom? The pics show there being a handle on each end of the 56", is that easily removed? I know the depth will be off but height top to bottom ok? Also on the side box they can mount to either side, correct? All of the pictures I see they are on the left but on their site it looks like the tab used to hang it is on both sides. I should have paid closer attention a few weeks ago when I was there but at the time I was only thinking the 44" setup all the way around. My local HF is a little far to answer these questions with a quick look, I apologize if these have been answered already but my search came up short. Thanks in advance.

Pretty sure you can , because I bought one of their hang on side boxes and I could have put it on either side of my New Britain tool box.

Can't speak to the 56" but the handles on the 44" aren't even installed when you get it.
The side box can hang on either side.
I can snag a measurement of the overall height of the side box if you want. Just ask someone here for the height of the 56" without the wheels.
Does the 56" have a lip at the top like the 44" does?

Thanks for the replies. The 44" on their site says 40" tall while the 56 says 42" tall. I know their measurements are not spot on though because the 44 has 2 different model numbers for the same box and they are listed different dimensions. I really want a side box but I am hoping I dont have to give up the 56 to do it. I should have taken pics when I was at HF a few weeks ago! Grrr

There is always a way to mount one. Be it hanging over the lip, or drilling a few holes and using nuts bolts and fender washers.

The handles for the 56" box come in a drawer. The 18" deep side boxes can be attached to pretty much any tool box.

Mine is at work, but I can see no reason why it won't fit on there. Guy I know put one on his Macsimizer box, nice for the money, has a couple drawers in it.

Again thank you all for the replies, you helped out a lot. I made the trip today and this is what I came back with. I only had time to cut the liners after unboxing and putting it all in place tonight. Tomorrows going to be busy.
