HI MY NAME IS STEVE, AND I'M A GARAGAHOLIC.
(chorus) HI STEVE!
I linked from ADVRIDER garage thread and now I have a new addiction. I have about 750-800 sq ft and plenty to go in it. I was just reading a thread about resale for garage mods. (specifically floor paint) and decided I should get post #1 out of the way. The tipping point when I purchased my home was probably the garage. A carport or a little single wasn't going to cut it. This one was built right to start with. Built in 1956, it has 3 bays, built in cabinets (4, 7ft x 3ft), 2 walk-in closet like storage areas and 3 phase power. One, of two, water heaters and one, of two, A/C air handling units for the house take up a bit of the space, but so far there has been plenty of room to fill. So far my only upgrade has been lights and elec. Six, 4 tube fluorescents on one 20 circuit and 3 extra 20A circuits, besides the original single 15A circuit. My next project will probably be new paint. The wall are plywood and painted tan. I was thinking flooring for my next project, but a fresh new coat of paint would really boost the apperance for next to nothing. Deciding on a color (white, for increased brightness or ?) will be easier than deciding on a flooring. Right now, I have approx. 150 sq ft of strategically place foam rubber mats (so far I don't have to worry about welding splatter or water). I'm on my feet at work all day so I really like cushioned work areas. The epoxy floors look really great in the pictures, but I can't imagine having the stand or work on them for any amount of time. A buddy is an A/C contractor and its really hot most of the time here, so a 2-3 ton unit for the garage will probably be next. Unless, I blow the money on a motorcycle instead. In the mean time, I am thinking I NEED to build a shed behind the garage for the compressor and garden equipment (for me, it would seem to be key to being able to keep the shop clean).

Anyway, it looks like this is going to be a great resource! I'll finish with a ?, Should I get another motorcycle or A/C the garage 1st?

While I'm usually all for new toys, finish the garage first. It's been my experience you get 85% done with the garage, then you start filling it up with new stuff, you never seem to get back to finishing that last 15%. But whatever you decide to do, this is a great forum to confuse you even more. Welcome.

 I think "finished" is even less likely to be applied to the garage, than it is to the toys. Occasionally with the toys I get to the point where everything is how I like it. In the garage....don't think that will come true, unless I win the lottery. But then, just think of the possiblities....no, the garage will never be truly finished.
