another insulating question

i'm ready to insulate and had a question on the ceiling, i have engineered floor joist and the span is 12 inches between them. there is going to be 9 inch fiberglass betwween them but because the joist are made of 2x4's there will be no insulation where the joist is. do you think i will have a big heat loss with it done this way?

I would use blown in insulation for your application.

I would use blown in insulation for your application.

Install a ceiling (5/8" plaster board is a good fire stop) and blow/pour in loose insulation from above.
