Is anyone familiar with PolyPlank foam? This is a closed cell polyethylene foam. I am able to source 2" factory seconds at a pricepoint that is a 80% less than I could buy the blue or pink EPS for. The sheets are 4x9 which matches the pole spacing of my pole barn. I would be using in the walls and ceiling-with blow in on top of the foam board. It does not require structural integrity and fire is not a concern as the walls/ceiling will be covered with sheet metal. All seams would be foamed. (My original intent was to use Poly Iso but the local Dow Plant closed and the readily available stream of factory Poly Iso seconds has dried up. Plus the 4x9 sheets will eliminate a lot of cutting and fitting versus the 4x8 sheets. And yes I agree that spray foam would be the "best" option but with the local quotes I've received, the pricepoint is beyond where I can be for this project)
While the price point and size is perfect, I'm unsure how this will perform. The polyplank is not ridgid like EPS but has flex (think pool noodle like composition but with a tighter, less flexible grain pattern). A few questions:
-Any knowledge on the range of r value for this stuff. An internet search provided little guidance. This is the biggest concern.
-Does polyplank shrink over time-will it pull away from the foamed joints?
I know this is a strech as this may not be a common application. Any other guidance would be appreciated. This is the last step before finishing up the wiring and hanging the interior steel. This cold snap has motivated me to get this done!
Thanks!
