Can anyone tell me if this is a real snap on or not I couldn't find a stamp on the back and there's no keys for it.
Over all it seems like good construction and it's heavy but it's pretty beat up there's four big holes in the top where u can tell someone had a small vice mounted to it. The pawn shops asking 160 for it I was gonna try and beat em down a bit

It kind of looks like it from the drawer trim but I'm no expert.

All the newer ones have the lock in the middle which is why I'm asking the experts here if I can prove it's not a snap on I can go in there and beat him to about 80 bucks

Not sure on side cabinets, on the roller boxes they usually have two i.d. tags, not sure if there would be one under that lower drawer or not. Without a tag, they really don't have a case.

That's not a Snap-On side box. Drawer trim is wrong, side trim is wrong, lock is in the wrong place, bottom of drawers is bent outwards, not their style of drawers. Also looks WAY too small to be a Snap-On box. Their side boxes are rather large. That one is squared off like the old KR and KRL boxes are, but it looks too small to be one of those.

Look on the back to be 100% positive. All Snap-On boxes made since at least the 1960's have numbers stamped into the sheet metal identifying it by part number, manufacture date, and of course the company name and location (Kenosha, WI).

I'm fairly certain it is not a SO box, but am not 100% on that. The badge to box ratio is off. The lock position is odd, I wonder how that even works. The sheet metal fold style is not the typical I have seen of Snap On. As suggested, check the back it should be stamped. And possibly it should also have a sticker inside one of the drawers.

This ^^ and also SO wouldnt use such a large,un-proportioned emblem. Not to mention its not centered. Also the metal edge around the top "worksurface" is too tall.

Looks like the HF side box, but in blue.

Nah, sheet metal folds are incorrect, incorrect number of drawers, lock position.

The lock position really makes me wonder if it even works at all. I can't think of any reason why a company would put a lock non central. Kinematically it is super inefficient. I wonder of the original lock hole is central, but behind the SO badge. Then the one we see is just relocated for looks? :dunno:
