The ratchet for auction is clearly NOT new; if you look at the handle, you'll see the smeared lettering and the darkening of the red plastic on the very end of the handle.

For comparison, this is a picture of a true new handle:

That is kinda, well, who knows, I wouldn't put the seller as being the type selling however for a lot of his tools he's gotten "as described" positives that were new. He has 1 negative that I could see going either way especially with how quick buyers have become with the negative business. I'd treat it as "new" or "near new" if I were bidding. And either way, "smeared lettering" and "grease on the end" will happen in a couple of days of professional use.

I can't even tell it says Snap on from that picture. So I definitely can't tell if it is smeared or not. I think I need a new bigger monitor.

Hard to tell, but the handle does look like it has grease on it. I would stay away if what you want is a truely new tool.

The last time I took the sellers word for it due to lousy picts, I got bit. I am overly cautious now that there are more and more idiots on eBay.

The Ebay phrase that pays is "Buyer Beware". If a deal is too good to believe, it probably is. Be cautious in all you auctions. Sellers have different standards. One guy's mint maybe another's very good condition and so on.
That in itself make not make him an intentional liar. He just has different standards. I am often confused reading the item's description while looking at the posted pictures. They don't match more and more these days. When that little voice inside of you starts saying, I don't know, I don't think so, that doesn't look right, etc. Pass on the auction. They'll always be other deals to be had.

You know I was wondering if it was just me. But it seems like none of the pics on ebay are worth **** any more.

A lot of them look like they were taken by using a cheap cell phone. Or else so dark or so bright you can hardly see what the item is. Otherwise any details of it.
