I know the "which lift should i choose" questions gets beat to death here, But here it goes anyway... :)

12' 4" Ceiling, looking for a "versymmetric" type lift.

I am between the new Bendpak 10AP and the Challenger VLE10

The big difference that keeps swaying me back and forth are the new 3 stage rear arms on the BP.

BP Rear arm reach:
29.5" - 57"

CL Rear arm reach:
38.375” - 55.375”

Is have the flexibility of the BP rear arms worth going with BP over CL? Pricing is similar.

I have a BP with 3 stage fronts and 2 stage rears. I find the 3 stage arms a little annoying.

Are you sure your ceiling is 12' 4"? If you are measuring at one end of the garage, you could have a different measurement in the center due to floor slope. At 12' 4", you are going to have a tight fit... Maybe in impossible one if you are sloping up from your measurement.

CL is ~144"
BP is ~145"

It's 12' ceilings then i recessed an area between 2 trusses (6") for a lift. So there should be clearance.

Check out the rotary sp010 with the 3 stage conventional arms too. I have this lift and I believe the reach range is even more than the 2 you posted.

I have put pickups on it, 911's, my lawnmower, sidebyside. Never had a reach issue.

I would definitely measure to be sure. You also need several inches of additional space above the lift to stand the posts up. (The base plates make them taller as they come upright.)

I have 2" of clearance in the middle of my garage, which wasn't enough to stand up the legs. I had to do it at my doors and then "walk" them to the center of the garage for installation. It sounds like you won't have this luxury, so you'll want to do some trig and make sure that you can stand up the legs in your recess.

Overestimating the size of the baseplate still only makes the longest side of that "triangle" less than 147". That still leaves room for error with ~149" of ceiling height.

I'd go with 3 stage-arms since they have a few more inches of adjustment. I've used 2 stage and 3 stage and I don't find either one annoying or harder to use than the other.

Yes they adapted that option from the spo12’s. Absolute best lift! Spo 10 or 12.
Most versatile lift ever made from a smart car to a crew cab dump truck removes regular cab cabs,

Wish my lift had three stage rear arms. It only has three stage on the front. The two stage arms on the rear are great for cars, but when I go to lift a extended cab, wide body truck, I need to have the truck perfectly centered. If I don’t, the rear arms are too long to allow me to pick from the frame. It’s such a pain in the *** to get lined up perfectly, I added a cheap lazer to help me get centered. If I get the truck perfectly centered, I have about 3/8” adjustment on the rear arms. That’s it. Never needed them to extend at 100% for any vehicle, so I’ve been contemplating shortening the inner rear arm by an inch so I have a little more ball room. Get three stage front AND rear and you’ll never have issues.

Have you thought about getting these?

I have a set and they are quite handy for exactly what you describe.
