I'm getting ready to start electrical on my pole barn. I asked about this in another thread but figured it might get more reponses on its own. I have a 24 x 4 x 10 pole barn I just put up. Will be using it for general shop space woodworking metal working storage etc. I will have a small office in the corner. I'm trying to figure out how far to space my lighting. I'm looking to pick up some lr34182 luxrite 4000k 2100 lumen bulbs and some 8 ft tandem fixtures from my local distributor where I buy often. I'm looking at 87.5 lumens/SQ foot which I think should be sufficient for my use. I am thinking of using ten fixtures for a total of 40 bulbs. I'm trying to decide which direction to run the bulbs and what kind of spacing I can get away with. Doesn't have to be perfect.

Get someone to do a layout for you. lumens/square foot doesn't mean anything and will lead you down the wrong path.
