At my store, all the Channel Lock stuff was only like $1-$2 off. Most of the Knipex stuff was ~35% off. Picked up a pair of 8" mini bolt cutters for $36

A bit of advice if you have multiple Lowes in your area to check from. In my area, the three local Lowes had three different prices on the set of Knipex cutters I wanted at $23, $31 and $36. Of course the one with $23 listed online price was out of stock but I got one of the other ones to honor the $23 price of the first store by calling and asking.

Great idea about checking different local Lowes! I've got two nearby and there are half a dozen Knipex that are $10 cheaper in one store vs the other. Wonder why?

Yeah, it goes back to what I've been saying about the value of Euro in relation to the dollar. The Euro's value is falling faster than the dollar. :)

I have no clue on why the price disparity. All three of my local stores are in the same economic demographic area.

Anyway. Just picked up my cutter and it is nice.

There are some good deals on the Knipex. I picked up the insulated needle nose for $24 and the linesman pliers for $25 with the comfort grips. Good deals I think.

The best deal I saw there was the Bosch 18V Impaktor for $99. There aren't many left, but my store in Commerce, MI had 2 left. I would have pulled the trigger, but I really really don't need any more drills/impact drivers! http://www.lowes.com/pd_368224-353-25618-02_4294707829__?productId=3482239&Ns=p_product_qty_sales_dollar|1&pl=1&currentURL=%3FNs%3Dp_product_qty_sales_dollar|1&facetInfo= Listed as $109 on the website if your store has them, but labeled $99 in store.

If you get a 25618, even if it comes with 2 slims, for $99 thats a hell of a deal. Its better than the one they usually carry, the IDS181. In fact both of the 'main line' Bosch 18v tools Lowes sells, the DDH181 and the IDS181 are not as good as the previous gen they used to carry.

Both the 25618 deal and the $26 cobras aren't on sale near me. weak.

thanks to the OP for posting this. i went to my local Lowe's and although they didn't mark down all the Knipex or Channel Lock stuff like some of you guys got, I was able to get the Knipex 8" long nose pliers for $19.48 which I thought was a good deal. the cobra's were a decent mark down, but I already got the Craftsman rebranded version for much less. the other stuff was only marked down slightly. i also noticed a lot of other stuff marked for clearance and there were signs all through the store indicating they were doing a clearance sale across the entire store. As always Lowe's clearance is highly YMMV and depends on local inventory levels or something.

Knipex prices tend to increase as you get closer, geographically, to the US branch.
It's a seemingly real phenomena. :0

Keep in mind that lowes had lowered their prices on Knipex tools around 15% last year, probably in preparation to clear out the line. So, the new clearance prices are a better deal than reflected by the price stickers.

Spent another $100 on Knipex today. Makes me not want to go into a Lowes since I either come out sad I didn't buy them, or sad that I spent a lot of money. It's a fact that since joining GJ my tool buying has increased tenfold.

Looks like it's the same in the Rochester, NY area. Knipex stuff was anywhere from 15-35% off at the store in Henrietta. Channel Lock stuff was substantially marked down too, in some cases lower than their made in China lineman gear. Supply was limited, I got the last of some items.

I think Lowe's is about to drop Knipex and Channelock, and maybe even Greenlee for that matter. The entire electrical tools section at the store was looking very slim when I went to my local store a few days ago.

It'd be great if Lowes picked up Klein, the Greenlee stuff *****.

Will miss Channellock though

The two Lowe's I went to had different prices on it. One was selling the Cobra tongue and groove pliers for only 2 or 3 dollars off, while the other was selling it for 10$ off...

For some reason I don't think they'd drop the Channellock channellocks tho. But yes most probably all their other handtools. And you say Klien, but to be honest, the Kleins we get at the supply houses are almost the same price but definitely the tips are different and the handles feel different than the cheapo ones from HD. I also think Klein general quality has gone down a whole lot. They don't last as long as they used to.
