Success!!!! Moved the wires around, which made perfect sense other than that one empty space on the c.s., and she fired right up. The motor still hums quite loudly, but I am soooooo happy that the thing finally lives! Now all I have to do is find a source for 7/8" compression rings and figure out how to properly bend the 7/8" soft copper line from compressor to tank and I am ready to roll..
Oh yeah, and I need to figure out how I'm gonna email a six pack to JBurgess for all his help! Thanks bud!

7/8" OD is the size of 3/4" copper water pipe. Home Depot or Lowes should have the compression rings.

As far as the humming, be sure the CS is turning off the starting winding. If you have a clamp on ampmeter put it on T8 and be sure the current drops to 0 when the motort is up to speed.

When you get everything hooked up, check the amps on the motor at full pressure and be sure it does not exceed the nameplate on the motor.

Some motors have 2 starting caps, that's what the extra contact is for on the switch.

Bending tubing is easy. Getting it not to kink is a little harder. Filling it with sand or frozen soapy water may help.

I'll have to keep looking for the rings, checked at HD and they did not have the correct size. I work for True Value's corp office, so maybe I can find it in out warehouse. As far as the start winding being turned off goes, I "think" I can hear the c.s. click as the motor begins to wind down so hopefully its working. Good excuse to go buy a clamp ampmeter tho! I had considered the sand thing on the tubing...may have to give it a shot. The old line was just trashed and as luck would have it, the guys that installed my ac left two feet of the correct size line laying up in my attic. Thanks again for all your help.
