Mr. fix it
Member
Hi there GJ members!
I found this site again yesterday after installing a new Mr Heater Big Maxx 50,000btu unit into my garage.
I had expected it to work right out of the box but it was strangely similar to this thread which I didn't continue on with in fear of being beat down
for adding to a 4 year old thread! LOL!!

So here I am creating probably yet another thread about how the B/N Mr Heater Big Maxx unit didn't work after throwing a 4 blinking LED code.
so after reading the thread I was not 100% sure that this was the fix but I went ahead with it and pulled the heater apart to do the "Burner Over Fire Fix" on the top burner.
I had thought this may ahve been the issue since I had observed the blue flame coming from the top of the burner just like in the pictures I saw.
When I pulled it apart much to my surprise, the Mr Heater company had already applied a fix which was a spring clip that wasn't quite doing the job to pinch off the top on the burner.
The clip was added to the top of the burner instead of along the length of the gap that needed pinching off.
I rotated the clip 90 degrees so it was over top of the length of the gap and it closed the gap enough to correct the situation and now the heater is working fine!
Sorry I didn't get any pics before buttoning this up, I was more concerned about getting this up and running...
