Anybody know what these are? They are aluminum, 1/2" drive, and covered with grease. Only guess I can come up with is they are used to force grease into something???

Got them at an estate sale today, the deceased was in the trucking business and most of the sale was tools and truck parts.

Looks like the spacers you turn into coil springs to try to get a little more lift.

Those spring spacers are for front coil springs on 60's and 70's rear wheel drive cars. A lot of those cars the coil springs were sagged a lot on front and they were used to get them back to designed ride height. Rear spring spacers would have to be three or four times that big to even stay in the springs. Those were installed with the car on a lift and then screwed in with a 1/2 inch extension and breaker bar. You could move them around the coil springs to vary the height. The closer to the inside the more they would raise the car. This was a short term cheap fix that a lot of cars needed.

Thanks! I'm of the age to know of these, but have never run into them before. So, are two of them enough to work, or does it take a bucketfull?

I had some on the Sunbird I used to have... it sagged in the rear, so I wedged some of those in. Apparently they **** or I didn't do it right (or both), they fell out and my sis found 'em along the driveway (long gravel road) while she was walking her dog.

Nope that's what they were famous for. Sometimes you could here them pop out and hit the control arm or fender or the wheel while driving down the road. My room mate used some in his 66 Chevy truck, put four in and I think by the end of the week had one left.
