This came in with a bunch of mechanics and auto body tools I bought. I vaguely recall having seen them before, but do not know what they are or what they attach to.

I'm sure someone out there in Garagejournalland can identify them.

Any thoughts as to what they might be?

Thanks.

No idea, but it looks like it would pull the two ends together if you turn the threaded rod one way, and separates them if you turned it the other way.

Some type of panel alignment tool maybe?

Perhaps, I don't know. Makes sense.

I have something similar, kinda like a parallel jaw clamp screw and nut setup. With a 1/2" extended boss on the nut portion and a handle on one end. No nut in the middle though.

When I got them at an estate sale they were clamping two rough boards together. The boards had 1/2" holes drilled in them and the bosses pulled the two together.

I've used them a couple of times similarly to clamp things flat between two boards.

Those buttons look like they would fit into a t-slot. That would make a great bumper for repeatable hole drilling.

Seems a little to precise for that, but what do I know? lol
I agree, figured the screw was too small, and the thread too fine, to do the job in a reasonable amount of time on a car spring.

I've seen similar setups pulling counter tops together, so Moldyjim's reply was closer to my thoughts, but I think its overmade for that application.,

The cam gear holder sounds like the best bet, I've looked up and found similar items. Now all I need to do is find the set of tools that it came out of--should be in this mountain I bought, somewhere! Thanks, everybody!
