Another Mystery Vise Needs Info on Maker

The other day, came across this vise and was told it was used in a local telephone company.

It has had modifications and only info found on it was a # 301-176, but looks to be a company inventory #.

In any event, any info on Maker and what type of vise it was, would be appreciated.

Weight --32 pounds
Jaws--4 1/2 inches
Maximum Jaw opening--6 inches
Maximum Vise Length when closed--13 inches
Maximum Vise Length when fully opened--17 inches

However, what I'm looking for is info on possible maker and was this vise used in a more specific way given the way it is built.
