My name is Neal Brown. I came across the Garage Journal while investigating information on the restoration of a Blackhawk S4 floor jack that was used in my fathers front end alignment shop. I expect this jack was made in the 30's or 40's and has leather pump and lift cylinder seals. I ordered a new seal kit but while I am waiting on delivery I am looking for advice on the process of installing and adjusting (both piston seal retainers are threaded and adjustable) the leather seals. Any advice would be appreciated.
