Lurked around GJ for a bit and decided it was time to register and get a garage build thread going. It's damn cold here in the winter, so I'm installing a heater in the garage. That means, insulation and finishing the walls and ceiling need to happen. Of course that means I need to figure out proper power and lighting for the space. Which means I have to figure out how I'm going to lay things out. Which means I'm going to be spending quite a bit of time scouring for great ideas and tips on GJ.
I'm mostly a bike guy, currently. This has more to do with lack of room for any more 4-wheel vehicles. I've got 4 bikes thus far, ranging from vintage scrambler, to dirt bike, to sport touring bike.
1969 Yamaha 180 YCS1C
1986 Honda XR80R
1989 Yamaha FJ1200
1990 Honda XR250R
I find that when I need parts, I'm searching for NOS parts on eBay. Have an old '89 Ford F-150 4x4 too, which fits in with all the other 20+ year old bikes. The garage is also home to a couple of daily driver sedans.
2005 Honda Accord LX V6
2006 BMW 530XI
I'm "finishing off" the garage so that I can work in the winter on rebuilding the vintage scrambler and start build other small projects. I'm real interested in starting to do some metal work. I've got a welder, but really don't know how to use it. It's time to get started preparing the space so I can expand the skillset.
