Hi everyone,
Just another new guy saying 'hello'. I've been lurking for a little while now - getting ideas for projects around our 'new-to-me' home.
My wife and I moved from a small, 1960's rancher on a postage-stamp property into bit bigger, nicer 1960 rancher with about 3 acres. Its sort of our "dream" property - nothing fancy, simple maintenance, updated nicely, attached oversized 1-car; detached 2 story 24x30 barn with a place for my truck, motorcycles and woodworking upstairs.
We feel very blessed to have found the property and plan to spend the remainder of our life here - the Good Lord willing...
Lots of projects to do: add to original insulation in the house attic, insulate the attached garage, insulate the 2nd floor of barn (1st floor is already insulated/drywalled). Fortunately, the barn has a proper chimney in place, so adding a stove of some sort will be fairly easy.
We just moved into the home in October, so I'm really anxious for Sping to see what everything looks like as it comes back to life - lots of trees - we back up to about 300 acres of private wooded land, so that puts our home "in the woods" a bit - I love it.
Well, thanks again for making a great forum - As a bit of handy-man; woodworker; shade-tree motorcycle mechanic I hope to learn more and contribute where I can.
