I've been lurking and learning for a few months and decided to introduce myself. I live in the 'burbs of the DFW area and have a 3 car garage that has become one of my favorite places to be. I dream of owning a true garage mahal like Roger55's: http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=8044&page=10
I found his garage build thread and this forum while I was day dreaming over garage plans online. Until my boys are out of high school this will have to do. I'm about 90% done with my current garage plans, but I'm seriously looking at getting a mid-rise lift soon if anyone has any suggestions. I need one with a really low drive over height...

Cheers!

Welcome to GJ, 5qf! Nice set-up you have. That is what a lot of people are aiming for and you have it as a starting place .

Nice Lotus. Can't help but notice that having a small sports car that doesn't fill the whole parking space will allow a lot more usability in the shop! Maybe I can sell the Mrs. on that concept...

Thanks. I do keep my daily driver and the wife's kid carrier in there too, so it can get tight unless I pull the cars out. A month ago I still had a basic workbench made from MDF and 2 x 4s. This set up is much more flexible and I managed to get most everything in a drawer or on the peg board (time for more tools!).

The Lotus does afford some more room than say a Viper, but its a real SOB to work on sometimes...I've acumulated the largest colection of wable sockets, u-joint extenders and misc. adaptors known to man in order to work in that cramped little engine bay.
